New Year, New Look

Original artwork for theMangoTimes

theMangoTimes was long overdue for a makeover, so as the calendar did its annual backflip from 2024 to 2025, I decided it was time to freshen things up around here. This summer, we’ll be celebrating 30 years of theMangoTimes (can you believe it?!), so I thought a fresh coat of paint and some new wallpaper were in order. And hey, fun fact: you can still read the very first issue of theMangoTimes from way back when it was a humble weekly email update. (Spoiler: it’s a time capsule of early internet nostalgia.) Take a look and marvel at how far we’ve come.

For 2025, I’m aiming to bring a little more life to this place. I wrapped up last year with several new posts—mostly book reviews—but I’m hoping to kick theMangoTimes podcast back into gear. (The Fletchifesto isn’t going to discuss itself, after all.) Plus, I’m planning to revisit some of the old favorites that made theMT famous. Will I revive the ridiculous candy reviews? Maybe not, but don’t worry, I’ve got fresh recommendations and some fun new top-ten lists in the works.

If you’re new to theMangoTimes—welcome! You’ve joined at a great time. And if you’ve been here since the beginning—wow, thanks for sticking with me all these years. You’re the real MVPs.

Here’s to an adventurous and noisy 2025!

Quietly making noise,
Fletch

Andy Fletcher

Andy "Fletch" Fletcher has been married to Kendra for more than 30 years. He is a proud father to 5 sons, 3 daughters, but has added a few more kids by marriage and now a few grandchildren who call him Pops.
During the day he can be found fixing people's teeth, but the rest of the time you can find him smoking a pipe, enjoying a cup of coffee, riding a motorcycle or hanging out with his loyal black lab, Champ.
Enjoy everything you see on theMangoTimes from this Jesus-loving, wife-smooching, dog-walking, pipe-smoking, mountain-hiking positive guy as he quietly makes some noise.
