15 Show Up

Woody Allen was once quoted as saying: "80% of life is just showing up." Later, when asked if this was actually his quote, Allen clarified and changed the wording just slightly. He said: "80% of success in life is just showing up." Hmmm. I really like the first version of his quote. I've lived with that quote during most of my adult life and that's why this shortened version made it onto The Fletchifesto.

You know why I like this quote? Because it's true! Think about it. No matter what you do in life, it begins by learning to just show up.

Think about parenting. The successful parents I know are the ones who cared enough to show up and continued to show up. They show up at sporting events. They show up at musical performances. They show up at life events. It's not the only thing, but the parents who show up are the successful ones.

What about education or work? Those students and business leaders who killed it are more than likely to be the ones who learned to show up.

Creativity? What good is it to have ideas and dreams, if you never learn to act on them and how can you act on them if you never show up.

This is an easy one folks. Show up. Then, just start.

Quietly making noise,
Fletch

During the day he can be found fixing people's teeth, but the rest of the time you can find him smoking a pipe, enjoying a cup of coffee, riding a motorcycle or hanging out with his loyal black lab, Champ.
Enjoy everything you see on theMangoTimes from this Jesus-loving, wife-smooching, dog-walking, pipe-smoking, mountain-hiking positive guy as he quietly makes some noise.
