Fletch's 8th Annual Thanksgiving Hike

Join me on the North side of the Knight’s Ferry Covered Bridge at 7:30AM on Friday Nov 24th, 2023 for a simple hike up the Stanislaus River.
Pay attention to the weather and dress appropriately for a cool morning hike. You will want to wear comfortable shoes for hiking on rocky paths and bring along some water to keep yourself hydrated.
DRIVING/PARKING - If you are driving - you will need to pay for parking in Stanislaus Recreation Parks
(5$ credit/debit only at the parking lot machine).FAMILY FRIENDLY? Yup, I've taken my kids on these trails since they were 5 years old. It is also easy enough to backpack a little one if you want to bring a tiny tot along.
WHY SO EARLY? This year, I've decided to lead the hike on the Friday morning after Thanksgiving as part of my annual pushback on Black Friday nonsense! I found that REI has an initiative called #OptOutside and I chose to participate with them.
WHO IS INVITED? If you would like to meet a random bunch of cool people and have fun walking the trails of the beautiful Knight's Ferry recreational area, I'd love to have you join me. I’ve had family, friends, patients, staff members, church friends, and “plus ones” join me for the last eight years.
WEATHER? I'm fine walking on a foggy morning, little drizzle or light rain. I’ll probably choose to skip the downpour.
